Originally founded by Duncan Knapper, Dataflame earnt an enviable reputation for excellent support. Growing very quickly, the customer base grew purely through word of mouth rather than marketing spend. Duncan offered impeccable service to his customers, who shared their experiences with others. Some customers who started off on small hosting plans told their employers, and shortly local governments and corporates started moving their sites to Dataflame too. Duncan kept the ethos simple: Dataflame simply provided affordable UK-based Shared and Reseller Windows and Linux web hosting solutions.
Dataflame became part of Paragon in 2015. Paragon run other UK web hosting brands such as Tsohost and Vidahost and the same team now supports Dataflame.The aim and ethos behind Dataflame remains the same as it always was: provide the best hosting possible and the best service possible.

Our web hosting is based out of our own datacentre on the Slough Trading Estate pictured above. This datacentre was built by us in 2013 to suit our requirements of 100% uptime and reliability. Two separate power feeds run from separate generators and UPS strings, meaning we are at TierIII+ standard. Because we do not offer colocation, the only people with access to our facility are our senior systems administrators. We run our own multihomed network.
Our hosting systems are also developed in-house and designed from our own experience running websites. While we do provide the latest technologies, including ASP, ASP.net 4.0, PHP 4 & 5, MS-SQL 2012 and MySQL 5.5, we have also focused on making them extremely user-friendly.

We have a large team of around 100 support staff, consisting of first and second line technical support and third line sysadmins. Our entire team is technical - even our bookkeeping staff can explain the differences between Juniper and Cisco. We also have an office dog.
